Seven Pillars House of Wisdom, in collaboration with Rev. Gwynne Guibord of the Guibord Center and the Yuval Ron Ensemble, presents Out of Darkness Into Light, a unique healing and transformative interfaith and educational concert, to be held at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral on Saturday, October 19th 2013, at 8pm.
Out of darkness – the world came into being. For centuries communities across countless cultures and faiths have told and retold the story of “darkness into light”. Generations have gathered around camp-fires with primitive instruments and with exotic ones, with nothing but their own clear voices, to chant and dance the tales of creation, of life and death and rebirth, of joy and sorrow, of despair and hope…of our human struggle, our Human Journey from darkness towards light.
Inspired by a dream of the Sufi teacher Pir Zia Inayat-Khan it will include liturgical dance, audience participation, and moments that will elevate us as a human family toward the greater good.
Produced by and featuring Yuval Ron, along with Julie Delgado, Bill Elk Whistle Neal, Dervish Aziz, Norik Man-oukian, Annie Lieberman, Bassem Al Rashidi, Maya G, Joselyn Wilkinson and Katyanna Zoroghlian.
